How to Save Ringtones to Verizon Smartphones

How to Save Ringtones to Verizon Smartphones thumbnail
After downloading or recording, ringtones automatically save to most Verizon smartphones.

Verizon Wireless smartphones offer various capabilities for purchasing and downloading ringtones. Some smartphone models allow you to record your own sounds, music and voice clips to be used as ringtones. Most smartphones automatically save the ringtone to the wireless device as soon as the download or recording is complete. To guarantee these sounds are saved correctly, manually save each ringtone to your Verizon smartphone.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the "Option" key on your Verizon smartphone while the ringtone is displayed on the screen. Press or tap to open the options menu. The option key is normally the left or right soft-key located under the phone's display screen. Touchscreen phones will have the word "Option" displayed.

    • 2

Locate the "Save" selection in the options menu. This can be phrased in several ways, such as "Save As" "Save Ringtone As" or "Save To." Phones that do not offer a saving option normally use the internal autosave feature.

    • 3

Choose the location for saving the ringtone. Many smartphones automatically save the ringtone into the Ringtones, Sounds or My Stuff folders under the phone's main menu. There are usually two options for save locations: the device or memory card. Select your choice and press or tap the "OK" key to save the ringtone.

    • 4

Open the phone's main menu. Locate the folder that contains your ringtones, indicated in Step 3. The folder may contain several subfolders, such as ringtones or sounds, message tones, pictures and videos. Highlight "Ringtones" or "Sounds" and press "OK." On touchscreens, tap the correct ringtone folder.

    • 5

Scroll through the list and verify the new ringtone is listed. In Verizon smartphones with the autosave feature, manually saving the ringtone will create two copies of the ringtone.

Tips & Warnings

  • Duplicate copies of ringtones fill unnecessary memory space. Delete the duplicate copy by opening the ringtone and accessing the "Option" menu. "Delete" should be an option in this menu.

  • If you frequently download or record ringtones, purchasing a compatible memory card will save space on your device while increasing the amount of ringtones, pictures and videos that you can store.
