Pigeons can tear up a person's home and create general disruption. Getting rid of indoor pigeons is a matter of convincing the pigeons that your home is not their hang out spot, otherwise they may never leave. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Use a broom to shoo out any pigeons currently inside the home.

    • 2

Figure out where the pigeons are coming in the house. Check all around the house for any possible openings. Cover any possible pigeon entry spots with a screen or mesh netting.

    • 3

Clean the house to remove any leftover food crumbs that may be enticing the pigeons inside. Remove any nesting, bird droppings or other bird residue from the home as well. According to the Humane Society, pigeon droppings are a relatively low health risk to humans.

    • 4

Build an indoor scarecrow with some old clothes and a broom or mop. Move the scarecrow to various locations every few days to spook the pigeons.

    • 5

Use commercial bird-detering equipment. Strobe lights that give a constant pulse to scare away the birds. Another emits ultrasonic sound, inaudible to humans that repels pigeons and other birds. A third is a large inflatable figure with holographic eyeballs that shift and appear to follow the birds if they come near.

    • 6

Remove any eggs that the pigeons lay. This will keep them from repopulating the area with even more pigeons.

    • 7

Block off any wide open areas where groups of pigeons appear with concrete blocks, boards or wooden blocks. Fill the area with pieces of broken glass.

    • 8

Guard the area and spray any pigeons with a watering hose whenever they appear throughout the day. Do this on a regular basis until the pigeons have stopped coming around. It shouldn't take long before they move to somewhere more suited to pigeons.
