Practice proper mowing around flower beds.

Mowing a lawn can be a simple as getting out the lawn mower and cutting down the grass. If you have a lawn with no obstacles and you can just mow in straight lines, it can be a very easy task. But when a flower bed comes into play, you must take into consideration the delicate growing plants inside. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Begin mowing your lawn at the edge of a flower bed. Point the grass discharge chute opposite the flower bed, and mow a strip around it.

    • 2

Mow up to this strip of cut grass on your next pass, and use it as a header strip. A header strip is the already mowed grass where a lawn mower can be turned around in at the end of its run. By merely turning around in the mowed strip of grass next to the flower bed, you minimize any debris that might be thrown by the blades into the bed of flowers.

Continue mowing in this way, using the cleared strip of grass next to the flower bed as a turn-around header strip, until the job has been completed.
