How to Make Ribbon Pacifier Holders

How to Make Ribbon Pacifier Holders thumbnail
Ribbon holders keep baby's pacifier clean.

A ribbon holder helps keep your baby's pacifier clean and close at hand. You can make ribbon pacifier holders in colors to match your baby's outfits, upcoming holidays or the seasons. Make several for you own use and to give as a baby shower gift to friends and family. Clip the pacifier to your baby's clothing or car seat strap to prevent the pacifier from falling on the floor or the ground when dropped.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a 10-inch piece of ribbon for each holder with pinking shears to prevent fraying. Alternatively, cut the ribbon ends at an angle with scissors.

    • 2

Thread 1 inch of one the end of the ribbon through the loop on the clip. Fold the ribbon in half, wrong sides together, and stitch across the end several time to securely attach the clip.

    • 3

Stick the soft side of an adhesive hook and loop dot at the unfinished end of the ribbon, on the back side. Stick the scratchy side of an adhesive hook a loop dot 4 inches from the same end, on the back side of the ribbon. Sew an X across each dot to secure.

    • 4

Thread the open end of the ribbon through the loop on the pacifier, and press the dots together.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wash ribbon holders by hand, as needed, and hang by the clip to dry.

  • To prevent strangulation, make finished ribbon holders no longer than 7 inches and never leave your baby unattended.
