How to Lose Weight & Make Your Stomach Flat
Losing weight can be extremely difficult. This is especially true for fat around some of our more stubborn areas such as the waist and stomach. For this reason, the weight loss and diet business has become a billion dollar industry, Bloomberg Business Week reports. Additionally, weight loss surgeries such as band and bariatric, and fat removal procedures such as liposuction have become a norm for many. Nonetheless, as proven time and time again, there is no quick fix for losing weight and making your stomach flat. With lots of hard work and discipline however, it can be done healthily and steadily with few side effects. This is also the best way to ensure long term weight loss and body toning benefits.
Instructions
-
Change Diet
-
1
Include foods that are known to burn fats around the stomach. Different foods provide different benefits to the body. Some foods are known to burn fat and thus may target the fat around the midsection of the body. Some of these foods include lean proteins such as eggs, fish, beans and nuts, as well as foods high in fiber like oatmeal and whole grains.
-
2
Adopt a low fat diet and cut calories by incorporating lots of fruits and vegetables in your meals. This also means minimizing or even eliminating sweets, treats and other junk foods.
-
-
3
Drink lots of water. Water will aid in flushing fat from your body as well as excess fluids which can lead to or add to stomach bloating. Try drinking at least eight glasses of water each day.
Exercise
-
4
Start your exercise program slowly with a daily walk (about 30 minutes), swim or light jog.
-
5
Add cardio exercises to your workout to help burn away the fat. Some to consider include aerobics, running, boxing or cycling.
-
6
Incorporate exercises that target the stomach area such as crunches or leg lifts in your daily routine.
-
7
Tone and build stomach muscles with weight training. This will aid in keeping fat away.
Relieve Stress
-
8
Research ways to alleviate stress. Weight loss experts, as WebMD reports, believe stress to be a major cause of weight gain, especially that of stomach fat. Consider practicing meditation, yoga or breathing exercises.
-
9
Find a regular fun but physical activity to enjoy. Some ideas include golfing, bowling, ballroom dancing or playing basketball.
-
10
Spend an hour or so a day just doing something relaxing such as reading a book, listening to music, writing in a journal or working on a hobby.
