A raised photo can enhance any boardroom presentation.

A raised photograph can play a vital role in a boardroom display. Enhancement of the image varies depending on the subject and type of image, but merely adjusting the lighting source on the image and encouraging interaction with the photograph can increase the image's effectiveness in a professional setting.

Instructions

    • 1

Mount the photograph in a location where the background or surrounding area is free from visual distractions or clutter. In a boardroom setting, this could mean an easel.

    • 2

Add lighting to the photograph to emphasize the image. Use track lighting found in many offices, if possible, and direct two of the lights to focus on the image. Place one light on each side of the image and focus them off-center, lighting each side of the image evenly.

    • 3

Change the light-bulbs from fluorescent to halogen, which will cast a softer light on the image, enhancing the finer qualities of the print. If track lighting is not available, use simple clip lights placed discreetly on either side of the image to evenly light all sides of the photograph.

    • 4

Add additional height to the raised sections of the photograph. If the raised elements are cut and mounted on foam-core, carefully disassemble the image and create greater depth by adding to the height of each raised element. Simply add more foam-core, or a similar material, to the image section being raised.

    • 5

Mount the raised photograph on a larger white board or painted plywood surface. Create the clean backdrop by doubling the image size. For example, if the image is an 11-by-14-inch print, mount the work on a 22-by-24-inch clean white surface. If the image is predominately white, use a contrasting color, such as black as the backdrop. The additional space surrounding the image makes content pop.

    • 6

Allow people to touch the photograph, if the surface is matte or has a protective coating. Place the image in a place that encourages interaction with the piece or pass the print around the room. If its size and surface material make this option impractical, place it on the middle of the board room table.
