How to Take Passport Photos From a Canon T2i
According to the DIYPhotography website, a passport photo is a 5-by-5-centimeter photograph used on a person's passport and other documents where identification is required. Having passport photos done at a store can be expensive. If you have a professional SLR camera, such as the Canon T2i, you can easily make a set of pictures at home and have them printed.

1
Choose a plain white background. It could be just a white wall. Make sure there is ample lighting with no distracting shadows.
-
2
Stand close to the subject to capture his/her full face from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin. Make sure the head is centered in the frame. If necessary, rotate the camera's zoom dial.
-
-
3
Position your Canon camera at the subject's eye level, about 0.5 to 2 meters away. Don't direct the camera's flash onto the face --- it creates "red eye."
-
4
Rotate the mode dial to the "Full Auto" option so the camera settings are set automatically.
-
5
Press the shutter button halfway to adjust the focus. The dot inside the "AF Point" will flash briefly in red. At the same time, you will hear a beep and see the focus confirmation light in the viewfinder. If necessary, the camera will engage the built-in flash.
-
6
Press the shutter button completely to take the picture. The captured photograph will then display on the LCD screen for about 2 seconds. If the built-in flash has popped out, push it down gently with your finger.

Tips & Warnings
You can alter, remove, amend or enhance a passport photo once you transfer it to the computer.
For religious and racial customs, headgear can be worn so long as it doesn't hide the subject's facial features.
