Instructions

    • 1

Clip the hair bow onto a piece of newspaper, fabric, or other item to secure. This helps hold the hair bow in place and leave your hands free while you work.

    • 2

Apply a small amount of fabric glue or glue with a hot glue gun on the area of the bow you want to place the feather. Marabou feathers are quite lightweight and delicate, and applying glue directly to the feather can be difficult and messy.

    • 3

Place a feather on the glue and hold it in place for a few seconds to ensure proper adhesion.

    • 4

Continue adding feathers until you achieve the desired look. Deciding where to place the feathers and how many to use is completely personal preference; you can cover just the top or bottom edge, or the entire front of the bow with feathers. You can add feathers to the back as well, but this part of the bow will be covered when you clip it into your hair.

    • 5

Repeat on as many bows as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also add gemstones and beads by placing a small amount of adhesive on the underside of each and placing on the bow.

  • For hair bows made of softer fabrics such as satin and velvet, use fabric glue because hot glue may damage the fabric.
