How to Make Coffee With an Elite Mr. Coffee

Mr. Coffee has been in business since 1972 when it introduced the first automatic drip coffee maker. This new coffee maker was specifically designed for household use. As the company grew, it introduced coffee filters, makers that used less coffee to brew a pot, iced tea pots, and single-serve makers. Many of the coffee makers are programmable. The Mr. Coffee Elite series is an older coffee maker that is no longer made. The Elite maker had an automatic timer, allowing the coffee maker to be programmed. Does this Spark an idea?

      Fill the coffee pot with water for the number of cups of coffee desired. Pour the water into the coffee pot water reservoir.

      Add a coffee filter to the coffee filter basket. Measure and pour the desired amount of coffee to brew based on the amount of water poured into the reservoir. On average this is one tablespoon per cup, more coffee grounds if a stronger cup of coffee is desired.

      Close the coffee filter basket. Hit the button to brew the coffee. The coffee will brew within minutes. This maker has a clock and an automatic brewing feature which can be set to brew at specific times. Coffee can be prepped in the evening and the automatic timer set to turn on in the morning. Ensure the coffee maker clock is set to the correct time. Use the programmable timer to set the hour and minute you wish the coffee to start brewing in the morning. Flip the on/off/auto switch to auto to finish programming the machine.

  • The coffee filter basket is removable for ease of filling.
