How to Care for a Lynn Tree
The lynn tree is also known as the European linden tree, or Tilia europaea. Landscapers and homeowners like to use this tree in yards, as it not only has a nice shape when given enough space, but it bears intensely fragrant flowers that perfume the surrounding area during the summer . The European linden tree is more hardy than the American linden, or basswood, tree. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Plant the European linden tree in a spot where it will get full sun during the day and not be shaded by surrounding trees, allowing it to grow into a full rounded shape.
-
2
Provide a moisture-retaining soil that has good drainage. Do not overwater the tree.
-
-
3
Prune out any dead wood during the year and cut back any growth that sprouts from the bottom 4 feet of the trunk. Remove any suckers that appear from the base of the tree or the top roots.
-
4
Save the seeds if you want to propagate new lynn trees. Collect them and store them in a plastic bag in your refrigerator vegetable drawer to stratify, or chill, for 3 to 5 months before planting.
