How to Transfer an AutoCAD LT 2006 CUI to Another Computer
AutoCAD LT is the 3-D modeling software from Autodesk. It is used in variety of applications that require drafting and detailing. AutoCAD has used CUI, or Customized User Interface, files to store data regarding your customized interface settings since the release of AutoCAD 2006. These settings become important when considering productivity, and you might find yourself in need of transferring these files to another computer. Whether you are upgrading your computers or simply switching to another office and don't want to move a computer, transferring your AutoCAD LT 2006 CUI files will eliminate the need to waste time customizing again.

Open your AutoCAD software and enter "CUI" in the command line.

Click the "Transfer" tab at the top and check to make sure you have an empty CUI file on the right. Create one if you do not have one.

Select the customized settings such as a workspace that you want to transfer on the left side. Drag and drop them into the right side.

Click the floppy disk icon to save the file. Select a location on your computer that is easy to get to.

Copy the saved file to a flash drive. Move to your other computer.

Insert your flash drive and copy the file from the first computer to the current computer. Make sure you remember where you save it.

Open AutoCAD on the current computer. Enter "CUI" in the command line and select the "Transfer" tab.

Select to open a CUI file on the right. Locate and open your transferred file.

Locate the customized settings such as a workspace that you want to transfer. Drag and drop them into the left side. Your Customized User Interface settings have now been transferred.
