How to Make a Facial Scrub With Epsom Salts thumbnail
The magnesium in Epsom salt stimulates serotonin levels when absorbed.

Epsom salt is available as an effective and inexpensive solution for mild skin irritations, swelling and muscle pains. These salts contain a mineral sedative that is useful for relaxing skin tissue. In a facial scrub, Epsom salt absorbs excess oils and sloughs away dry skin. The magnesium sulfate found in Epsom salt is also useful when mixed into a paste and applied directly to the skin that is irritated by bug bites to reduce itching and swelling.
