How to Draw the Rear End of a Car
You don't need professional art lessons to draw the rear end of a car. It only takes a few simple steps and some practice to create realistic looking sketches. The key is to start with geometric shapes and work your way up to the finer details.

1
Draw a long horizontal ellipse for the back of the car body. Using the photo as a reference, sketch an inverted trapezoid for the back windshield, and a long rounded strip for the bumper. You should draw slim, rounded shapes for sports cars and boxy, sharper lines for compact cars.

2
Sketch half circles for the two back tires, and smaller circles for the taillights and the exhaust pipe. Pay attention to detail; the taillights are identifiable features for the make and model of a car.

Shade in areas underneath the bumper, under the hubcaps, and on one side of the car. For a smooth look, shade with parallel lines. For rougher textures, use a crosshatching technique. Leave a white rhombus in the corner of the back windshield to create a glare.
