Registering a prepaid Visa card is an easy process.

A Visa prepaid card is also known as a prepaid Visa gift card or a prepaid Visa debit card. You simply use the card as a credit card when making a purchase. However, if you want to make an online purchase or a purchase by phone, you need to register your prepaid Visa card. The card is not issued directly by Visa but through another provider, so don't try to register it with Visa. Another thing to note is that a prepaid Visa card is not reloadable. Registering usually also protects you if the card is lost or stolen, but that depends on the provider.

1. Check the information guide included with your prepaid Visa card, or on the back of the card itself, for the name of the card provider. The front of the card might also show who issued the card.

2. Call the card issuer or visit its website, Visa advises.

3. Register your card by phone or online.
