How to Make a Fiber-Filled Wreath
Making wreathes has a very long history that dates back to ancient Greece. According to Wreathes Galore, during that time, "the wreath was commonly known as a diadem, from the Greek word diadema, meaning a thing bound around." Wreathes can be made from any material, including fabric filled with fiber.

1
Choose the three pieces of fabric for the wreath. They can all be the same color or solids mixed with patterned fabrics and must measure 2 yards in length. The fabric for the bow can be yet another color or style, as long as it complements the other three pieces and is 2 yards in length.

2
Lay the fabric for the wreath on a work table and draw three long rectangles that are 72 inches by 10 inches. Draw around the rectangle again, adding 1/2 inch for the seam allowance. Repeat this step until you have three 72-inch by 10-inch rectangles drawn, each with a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Repeat the step for the bow, making a rectangle that is 60 inches by 10 inches with a 1/2-inch seam allowance.

3
Cut out the fabric rectangles.
-
4
Fold the rectangles in half lengthwise, right side to right side. Press them flat with an iron.
-
5
Pin the edges closed with straight pins. Sew them together along the length. Do this with all four pieces of fabric. Turn the fabric right side out.
-
6
Stuff the three longest tubes with fiberfill until they look like long sausages. Stuff the tubes with a broom handle or a yardstick.
-
7
Sew the ends of the tubes together and braid them. Sew that end together. Bend the braid into a circle and sew the ends together to keep the circle in shape.
-
8
Bend a wire coat hanger into a circle. Keep the hook at the top intact. Sew the braid to the wire hanger.
-
9
Sew the lengthwise edges of the bow fabric together, then turn them right side out. Tuck up the ends and sew them, giving them a finished look. Tie it around the wreath at the point where you sewed the braided ends together. Hang your wreath by the hook of the hanger onto a nail or hook on your door, wall or in your window.
