Instructions

    • 1

Let the caramel set up completely. Make sure the caramel is not sticky and soft or it will stick to your wrapping. You can test the caramel's hardness by picking one of your apples up and seeing if it sticks to the surface it was on. If it comes away clean, it is ready to wrap.

    • 2

Choose a wrapping for the apples. Pick a wrapping that is not likely to stick to the caramel. Examples include cellophane, foil, parchment paper or wax paper.

    • 3

Cut the wrapping into squares large enough to cover the apple.

    • 4

Set the apple in the middle of the cut squares and pull the corners of the squares over the apples.

    • 5

Tie the wrapping around the stick. Choose anything from a simple string, twist tie or ribbon for this step.

Tips & Warnings

  • Set the apples on a nonstick surface while the caramel hardens.

  • You can decorate your wrapping to further customize your creation. Add stickers, glitter, or draw your own design with a permanent marker or paint pen. If you have software that makes labels, create your own labels with your name and the recipient's printed on it.
