How to Configure Codec on a Grandstream Phone
How clear voices are understood over the Internet when using your Grandstream Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phone depends on whether the correct Coder-Decoder was selected. Dropped lines and jumbled, scratchy voice distortion are some side effects of bad codec choices. This is due to the fact that the number of voice frames that can be transferred per Ethernet packet is limited. With the Grandstream phone, you will not miss any calls when you configure the codec. If a call comes in, the "Menu" mode will close so that you or someone else can answer the phone.
