How to Draw a Pinecone
There are thousands of different paintings of pine trees and forests scenes, but when you think about a pine tree, it is almost inevitable that you think about a pinecone. Drawing a pinecone is a great way to capture some natural beauty as well as heighten your drawing skills. With just a little help, you can more readily draw the perfect pine cone, and all you'll need is a pencil, paper and maybe an eraser.

Sketch a triangular shape on your paper. Make sure the triangles corners are rounded instead of sharp.

Sketch diamond shapes throughout the triangle shape. Make these shapes smaller toward the top of the pinecone, and make them fatter and larger toward the bottom. Fill these in lightly with your pencil.

Shade between the diamonds darkly with your pencil. Give the diamonds a little depth by shading their bases.
