Dry roasting is a process where heat is applied to foodstuffs without the use of oil. The dry roasting process is commonly used with foods such as nuts or seeds.   • Wooden spoon

Instructions

      Shell the pistachio nuts by hand, discarding the shells afterward.

      Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

      Spread the dry pistachios evenly onto a baking sheet and place them inside the oven.

      Stir the pistachios occasionally to ensure they are evenly roasted and lightly browned. Roasting time is 5 to 10 minutes.

      Remove the pistachios from the oven and place them on a plate to allow them to cool. Sprinkle salt on the nuts, if desired.

  • To roast pistachios as opposed to dry roasting them, lightly and evenly coat the nuts with cooking oil before placing them inside the oven.
