How to Safely Cook Fresh Shrimp
Shrimp is a popular seafood dish that is also good for you, as it's loaded with protein, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and low in saturated fat, according to the Food and Drug Administration. But, like most seafood, shrimp can carry illnesses that will leave you very sick if you fail to cook it correctly. Instructions

Boiling

Boil two quarts of water.

Add two tablespoons of sea salt.

Add 1 pound of shrimp to the water.

Cover the pan and reduce the heat, allowing the shrimp to simmer for between three and six minutes.

Turn off the heat when the shrimp are floating in the water and the flesh is completely opaque.

Run cold water over the shrimp, and they will be ready to eat.
Pan-Frying

Melt butter in a frying pan with olive oil on high heat.

Add the shrimp along with any desired seasonings.

Cook for three to five minutes until the shrimp's flesh is pink.
Deep-Frying

Put a few inches of vegetable oil in the deep fryer or wok and heat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dip peeled shrimp in milk and then coat them with flour.

Put them in the fryer or wok, allowing them to cook for two or three minutes until they are golden brown.
Grilling

Preheat the grill to a high temperature.

Put a few shrimp on a wooden skewer that has been soaking for 20 minutes in warm water. Repeat until you have used all the shrimp.

Arrange the shrimp skewers on a strip of aluminum foil that will fit on the grill's rack, with the skewers far enough apart that they do not touch. Place the foil on the rack.

Season the shrimp as desired.

Leave the skewers on the grill for about three or four minutes, turning once halfway through. Take them off when the shrimp's flesh is pink.
