How to Buy a Macaw Bird in Australia
Macaws are colorful parrot-like birds admired for their personalities and beauty. It can be quite difficult to buy a Macaw in Australia, because of a law that bans the exportation of native birds. This law was created in 1960. However, if you live in Australia, it is much more easy to purchase a Macaw, and there is even appropriate paperwork and documentation for those Australians that purchase such birds.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure you are able to properly care for a Macaw before making such a commitment. These birds live for 50 to 80 years, so you will need to provide for them in your will.
Macaws that are for sale for a ridiculously low price should be examined, or the seller should be questioned for a possible scam.
Someone who offers to ship birds also should be questioned.
