It's all about peace, love and flower power this Halloween when you follow these tips for throwing the best Halloween party ever, man.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Austin Powers Costumes
  • Hippie Costumes
  • Wigs
  • Aromatherapy Candles
  • Beaded Curtains
  • Black Lights
  • Lava Lamps
  • 60's Music
  1. Step 1

Dress in all-out '60s garb. Wear a long hippie wig, bandanna, circular sunglasses and colorful bell-bottoms.

  2. Step 2

Present a single daisy to each guest as he or she arrives.

  3. Step 3

Hang beaded curtains from the tops of the doorways throughout the house.

  4. Step 4

Light incense and candles throughout the house, especially in the bathroom and bedrooms.

  5. Step 5

Play '60s trivia games and award a special '60s themed prize to the guest with the most knowledge of the era. You can make up your own '60s questions, or cull related questions from Trivial Pursuit and similar games.

  6. Step 6

Blast '60s music throughout the night. The Grateful Dead, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and the Byrds were all popular and far-reaching bands in the 1960s.

  7. Step 7

Make anti-Vietnam War posters and picket signs and place them throughout the house. Every once in a while, wave a picket sign and incite guests to chant, "Hell, no, we won't go!"

Tips & Warnings
  • Get guests in the mood by calling everyone "man" and flashing the peace sign.
  • Create a far out atmosphere with strange lights like lava lamps and black lights.
  • Don't get so caught up in the '60s that you forget it's Halloween. See "How to Decorate Outdoors for Halloween" for tips on Halloween decorating.

on 11/22/2005 Add to the ambience with a classic '60s movie, or a classic movie about the decade. Think James Bond, the Beatles, etc.
