Drape a black tablecloth over the entire table.

      • 2

Stretch cotton spider webbing across the table, sprinkling black and orange plastic spiders on top.

      • 3

Place a spooky jack-o'-lantern or candelabra in the middle of the table as a centerpiece.

      • 4

Place a fake arm on a large platter, surrounded by sprigs of parsley.

      • 5

Hide fake fingers or other body parts under guests' plates and napkins for a blood-curdling surprise.

      • 6

Place a bowl full of fake eyeballs on the table with all of the other dishes.

      • 7

Run ghost- and witch-shaped theme lights along the edge of the table to serve as the only source of light.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Serve "blood soup" (tomato soup) in bowls made out of carved gourds or small pumpkins.

    • Serve punch or sangria out of a large cauldron and call it witch's brew.

    • Don't let any guests chomp down on a fake finger or eyeball during your gruesome feast.

Get a plain skull at a store and wash it well. Make small sheets of red Jell-O and stick it onto the skull. Get some sort of meat (or fake meat if you are a vegetarian) and using toothpicks, stick that all over the skull. Then put a layer of cheese over that. Leave crackers near it. To eat it, they have to pull the cheese and meat off the skull. It's so gross, but it is great for an adults party. It would scare little kids. Also tonic water glows under blacklights.

I like to freeze water in the kind of plastic gloves cafeteria workers wear. When the water is frozen you can peel back the glove and put a frozen hand in the punchbowl. Put a berry at the fingertip of each glove, as a fingernail!
