How to Play PSP 2000 Games on a CRT TV
The PSP 2000, also known as the PSP Slim, was the first redesign of the Sony PlayStation Portable. In addition to a slimmer profile, the PSP 2000 added the ability to output video from the PSP to any television. For full compatibility, use the component A/V cable on a TV that supports progressive scan. If your TV does not have a component input, then you can use the composite A/V cables.
Things You'll Need
- Component A/V Cable or Composite A/V Cable for PSP
- Firmware Version 5.0 or Later
Instructions
-
-
1
Connect the A/V cable to the Multi-Use video connector on the bottom of your PSP system.
-
2
Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the proper input port on your TV. While composite cables use a yellow connector for video, they use red and white connectors for stereo audio. Component cables use blue, red and green connectors for video, but they use red and white connectors for stereo audio.

Tips & Warnings
To check that you have the latest firmware, go to the "Settings" tab and select "System Update." You must be connected to a wireless network.
If you are using the composite A/V cables, only games that are rendered interlaced, instead of progressive scan, will work.

Would this method work for a PSP 3000 as well?
