Selling books on Amazon is a great way to get rid of books you are no longer using.

There are thousands of books for sale on Amazon. Some books are sold by individuals and businesses. Sellers can sell books in any condition, but the condition must be noted and the book needs to be in the condition it was described. Amazon allows anyone to sell used books on its website as long as you have an Amazon account. The seller has to offer standard shipping but can choose to offer expedited shipping as well. The shipping prices are set by Amazon.

Selling a Book

1. Create an account. To register for an account, you will need a valid email address. Simply fill out the information requested, and you will have an account.

2. Search Amazon's database for the book you would like to sell. This can be done by the title of the book or by using the book's ISBN number. This number is located on the back of the book under the bar code. Using the ISBN number ensures you have the correct edition when you search.

3. Click on the title you want to sell in order to go to the book's page. Here you will find a box on the lower right corner of the page. You will see the words "have one to sell?" with a box to click in order to sell your book.

4. Provide details about the book in this section. Select the condition of the book and add any comments about the book's condition, noting things such as water damage or missing pages. Click the "Continue" button.

5. Choose a price for the book. Amazon shows you pricing details in a box on the right side of the page. This will help you to choose a price that is appropriate for your book. Select the quantity of the book you have. Choose your shipping options as well.

6. Review the listing before posting the book for sale. You will also see Amazon's fee for the sale.

7. Submit the listing and wait for someone to buy your book.

8. Amazon will notify you via email when your book has sold and which shipping method your buyer has selected. You then must ship the book within two business days of the sale.

• Make sure to accurately describe the book's condition in order to avoid a return and and an unhappy customer.

• Amazon determines the shipping charges. You cannot charge more or less for shipping, and you are responsible for any costs over what Amazon allocates for shipping.
