How to Fit Cuff Links
French style dress shirts and tuxedo dress shirts often have just two button holes on their cuffs rather than a button and a hole. Put on your French style dress shirt. Choose which sleeve to fit the cuff links into first. Make sure the sleeve is folded back properly so that just the cuff is double layered.

Insert the cuff link into the top button hole on the top of the sleeve. Then thread the cuff link through the bottom button hole on the top part of the cuff. The cuff link is now threaded through both layers of the top side of the cuff.

Insert the cuff link into the upper button hole on the bottom cuff. Then insert the cuff through the lower button hole on the bottom cuff. Your cuff link should now thread completely through four button holes, resulting in a cuff that's firmly linked together with cuff links.

Button the upper buttons on the dress shirt, along the arms.

Straighten out the cuff. Make sure the cuff is even all around. Make sure the cuff links are on the top side of the cuff and visible when you stand naturally. Make sure the cuff is straight and presentable.

Repeat the process of threading the cuff link through all four holes on the other sleeve of the shirt. Button the remaining buttons on this sleeve.
