How to Change Your Ning Address

How to Change Your Ning Address thumbnail
You can change the Internet domain name of your Ning social network.

Many organizations and individuals use Ning web hosting services to set up their own social networking websites. Because the websites are on Ning servers, the websites have a "ning.com" address. Many users wish to use their own address to access their websites. You can achieve this by creating a new domain name and setting it to the address of your existing Ning website. You can also start a new Ning network on your own web host, but you will not be able to transfer the contents from your old website.

Register your new domain name with an accredited registrar. Domain names are available on a first-come, first-served basis. They cost from $10 to $35 per year.

Modify the "A" record by setting the host "@" to point to "8.6.19.68" (the Ning IP address). This allows users to access your site without putting the "www" in front of the domain name.
