How to Remove the Ford Super Duty Dash

by Daniel Valladares

The Ford Super Duty trucks are a line of pickups produced since 1999 that include the F-250 and the F-350. These trucks have a more powerful engine than the Ford F-150 and are much larger and heavier. The dashboard on a Super Duty truck is held in place by several bolts and clips. Once you remove the fasteners, you can lift the dash out of the vehicle.

Step 1

Open the truck's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

Step 2

Use a slotted screwdriver to pry off the headlamp switch panel. Disconnect the electrical wiring connector behind the panel and pull it out of the vehicle.

Step 3

Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the screws on the faceplate of the center console. Remove the faceplate.

Step 4

Insert a screwdriver into the holes on the radio to release the radio's holding pins. Pull the radio out of the dashboard. Disconnect its electrical wiring connector and pull it out of the vehicle.

Step 5

Remove the two 7 mm bolts on the underside of the center dashboard.

Step 6

Remove the two 7 mm bolts on the two side panels and the two 10 mm bolts on the two kick panels. Remove all panels from the truck with a slotted screwdriver.

Step 7

Use a slotted screwdriver to pry out the eight clips along the top of the dashboard. Pull the dashboard off the vehicle.

Step 8

Disconnect the three wiring connectors revealed by pulling up on the dashboard. Remove the dash from the vehicle. You may need another person to lift the dash out as it is very heavy.
