A concealment holster is meant to hide the fact that you have a weapon at all.

Concealment holsters, or concealed holsters, hide the fact that you're carrying a weapon. A variety of holsters are meant to be worn in different ways, and it helps if you know precisely where you want to conceal your weapon, and what style of dress you'll be wearing when you do so. Once you know that, adjusting the holster is simple enough.

Choose your weapon. Generally speaking the smaller your weapon is, the easier it will be to conceal. Small revolvers and compact automatics are best, since larger guns will cause easily spotted bulges in certain places that will tip off observers that you're carrying. Measure the weapon against where you're going to carry it.

Choose your style of clothing. If you're going to be wearing a business suit with a jacket, hide it under your arm, on your hip or in the small of your back, unless the jacket is tailored to fit you without the weapon. If you're going to be wearing jeans and a T-shirt, that cuts down your concealment options so that the small of your back or the front of your pants above the crotch are really your only options, except an ankle holster for a very small weapon.

Put on your holster. Concealment holsters meant to be worn inside your pants may come with a thin belt worn around the waist. A pancake holster is another option; you slip them inside your pants or skirt line. Wear shoulder holsters in a rig that goes over your arms and between your shoulder blades, leaving your chest bare. Ankle holsters go around your ankle and under your pants. For each type of holster, simply strap it around the area where you want to wear to wear it, then adjust the belt so that it's comfortable. Put your weapon in the holster and get dressed. Examine your reflection to see if you can tell the gun is there, and practice moving so that you don't clue in observers to its location.
