Because there is so much enjoyable music programming on television, you may wish to use a digital video recorder -- or DVR -- to capture your favorite selections. Thanks to the advent of CD recorders, you have an alternative in the event you wish to listen to these songs away from the television. Blank recordable CDs can write the music saved on your DVR in real time provided you connect the two devices properly.

  • CD recorder
  • RCA cable
  • Blank recordable audio CD

Instructions

      Connect the CD recorder to your DVR. Insert one end of the RCA cable into the color-coded "Audio Out" or "Line Out" ports on your DVR. Insert the other end of the RCA cable into the CD recorder's "Audio In" or "Line In" ports.

      Cue the DVR to the video containing the music you wish to record.

      Insert a blank recordable audio CD into the CD recorder's disc tray.

      Push the CD recorder's "Record" button.

      Play the cued DVR video as quickly as possible. Doing so minimizes empty space at the beginning of the recording.

      Push "Stop" on the CD recorder when the DVR music content's playback has completed.
