Instructions

1. Visit Skype's website and download its program onto a laptop or PC. The download is free.

2. Sign up for a free Skype account. Create a screen name, and provide an email address.

3. Ask the person in India to also sign up for a free Skype account, if she hasn't already done so.

4. Accept the other person as a contact.

5. Plug in the headset to the computer, or set up speakers and confirm that the computer's microphone is working.

6. Call the person through Skype. Skype video chats and Skype-to-Skype calls are free.

• Once an account is opened, Skype calls can be made from any computer.

• Always check the time difference with India before making an international call.
