Football has become one of the most popular sports in the United States.

Since college athletes are not paid, nearly every college football game is shown on ESPN3.com or, if the school has a major football program, the school will sometimes stream the football game from their website. As for professional football, there are several licenses that keep NFL games from being shown online, but there are some ways to watch games online for those who wouldn't normally have access to them or for those who want to watch an already aired game.

Instructions

  1. How to Watch College Football Online

    • 1

Open your preferred internet browser. As long as you have Adobe Shockwave installed on your computer, your browser should be able to view the game without issue.

    • 2

Type in "www.espn3.com" into the navigation bar. ESPN's live streaming of college football games will be listed.

    • 3

Click on the game you want to view. The college football game will be loaded and begin to play immediately!

    Watch Live NFL Games

    • 4

Visit the NFL Network's Live Streaming Site during or before a Thursday Night Football game. The times of these games vary, but they usually begin from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET.

    • 5

Download and install the Higher Quality Video player by clicking on the red "Download" button. The quality of the video is significantly improved and should be used as long as the bandwidth can support the higher quality.

    • 6

Use the panel on the left to navigate the different camera angles listed. One of the perks of streaming online is that you can choose the camera you want to watch the game from.

Watch NFL Games That Have Already Aired

    • 7

Go to the NFL Game Rewind site. For a fee, this site lets you watch games in HD that have already aired.

    • 8

Choose the package you want to purchase. At the end of the season, the site usually offers a $24.99 fee to watch all the regular season games from that season, in addition to the playoffs. They also offer a $19.99 package that allows you to watch all the games from the postseason.

    • 9

Create your Game Rewind account. If you already have an account with NFL.com, whether it be for Fantasy Football or NFL Shop, you can tie your Game Rewind package to that account.

    • 10

Select your preferred payment method to pay for the Game Rewind subscription package. The initial fee will take a few days to appear on your official bank statements. After you complete the payment and billing information, your subscription will be complete.

    • 11

Visit the NFL Game Rewind site again and log in to your account. The entire video archive of the games you have subscribed to should be available in HD.
