How to Unlock a Service Database
A service on a database is a process that controls the operation and implementation of a database. A database can have different control settings. Some of these settings start automatically when the computer starts up and the OS launches. Other settings are set manually. Administrators can control how the services will operate. Some operate to improve the efficiency of the computer system, others to improve the applications that run on the computer. If some of the services do not start when they should, this could cause problems.

1
Log in to the Windows operating system as an administrator. This will give you the access privileges to change configuration elements.
-
2
Go to the Windows taskbar and click "Start," "Control Panel" and "Services." The services are the programs and processes running on the operating system. They have three possible configurations: automatic, manual or disabled. If a service is set to automatic but does not start, this could lock a database.
