  • Bucket
  • Water
  • Bleach
  • Spray bottle
  • Ammonia
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Borax powder

Instructions

  1. Bleach-Based Solution

      Fill a bucket with 1 gallon water.

      Add 1 cup bleach.

      Mix to combine.

      Pour the cleaning solution into a spray bottle for easier application. Use this solution for cleaning walls and other hard surfaces that would not be damaged by bleach.

    Ammonia-Based Solution

      Mix 1 cup ammonia with 1 gallon water.

      Add ½ cup white vinegar.

      Dissolve ¼ cup baking soda in the cleaning solution.

      Pour the solution into a spray bottle for easier application. Use this solution for cleaning wood.

    Borax-Based Solution

      Put 2 cups hot water in a bucket.

      Add ½ cup borax powder.

      Mix until the borax has dissolved.

      Dip a sponge into the mixture and wring it out. Use this solution for cleaning upholstery.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never mix ammonia and bleach, as this can create toxic fumes. Never clean an area with bleach that has previously been cleaned with ammonia, or vice versa.
