The biscotti that most people are familiar with today is a version of Tuscan Biscotti. These treats were originally flavored with almonds. Today, biscotti comes in many varieties and flavors. This crunchy cookies can be made at home with a few steps and a little bit of patience. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Prepared biscotti recipe
  • Flour
  • Breadboard
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooling rack

Instructions

      Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Lightly flour breadboard and divide biscotti dough into two equal sections. Form each section into 12-inch by 3-inch loaves. Place each loaf on the prepared baking sheet and bake according to individual recipe.

      Remove loaves from oven after baking time is complete, usually about 40 minutes. Allow the loaves to cool for 30 minutes.

      Place cooled loaves on breadboard. Cut each of the loaves with a serrated knife into 3/4 inch diagonal slices. Place each slice, cut side down onto the baking sheet and return to oven. Cook in oven for an additional 15 minutes. Remove biscotti from baking sheet and cool completely on cooling rack.

      Once biscotti have cooled completely, you can add any garnishes such as glazes, frosting or chopped nuts.
