How to Make Fruit Candles

How to Make Fruit Candles thumbnail
Fruit-scented candles can be given as a house warming gift.

If you have been invited over to a dinner party, it is customary to bring a small gift for the host or hostess of the party, such as a scented candle. You can buy differently scented candles from a candle store or novelty shop, or you can make your own custom candle using candle making supplies that can be purchased at a soap making store. By making candles by hand, you can add in whatever fragrance oils you prefer, such as fruit-scented oils.

Place the beeswax into the coffee can, and place the can into the top of a double boiler.

    • 2

Pour enough water into the bottom of the double boiler to fill it halfway up.

    • 3

Heat the double boiler over medium-high heat until the beeswax melts.

    • 4

Pour the strawberry, mulberry and blackberry fragrance oils into the melted wax, and stir the mixture well with a spoon.

    • 5

Insert an aluminum-based candle wick into a glass mason jar so that the metal base is resting on the bottom of the jar and the wick is standing upright.

    • 7

Allow the wax to cool completely, then trim the wick to about half an inch before using.
