How to Get a Passport From Scotland
Citizen's of Scotland must have a passport to travel abroad. A passport may be obtained from the United Kingdom Home Office Identity and Passport Services for an adult or for a child. Children were once allowed to be included on an adult passport but children under the age of 16 are now required to apply for a child passport that is valid for five years. Either parent may apply for a child's passport. Plan well in advance if you are planning to travel as normal processing time for a new adult application can run six weeks or longer.
