Craft a Broomstick
-
1
Paint your paper towel tubes in witch colors. Brown and black are good choices. More creative witches might personalize their brooms like a custom car. Think flames and decals. Use markers to make your broomstick unique.
-
2
Cut out two strips from the construction paper, about 2 inches long and 6 inches long. Tape the three painted tubes together with masking tape. Dot one end of a construction paper strip with glue and wrap it around the masking tape. Repeat this to cover each piece of masking tape.

3
Cut out a rectangle from the front of a brown paper bag to use as your broom's base. Continue to cut 5-inch-high slits into the bottom of the bag to act as bristles.
-
4
Decorate the bristles with 20 pieces of yellow yarn that also measure 5 inches in length. Draw lines with glue along the bristles, carefully laying the yellow yarn along each glue strip. Cut 5 pieces of brown yarn and glue across the top of the yellow yarn. This borders your broom bristles.
-
5
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the other side of your broom base.
-
6
Stick the handle of your broom between the two halves of the base. Secure it with staples. When all the glue is dried, your prop broom is ready to use.
