Computerized clocks have the ability to tell time in 12 or 24 hour format. The 24 hour format is referred to as military time, and can be confusing. Learn how to switch between the two formats based on your preference of telling time.

      Go to "Start," then "Control Panel." Double-click on the "Date, Time & Language" icon to see your current settings.

      Click "Regional and Language Settings." Click on the "Time" tab to display your current time format. Click "Customize" to change the settings.

      Choose a time format that begins with a lowercase "h" for 12-hour time. The uppercase "H" is designated for 24-hour time format. Click "Apply" for the changes to take affect.
