How to Design a Prayer Journal
Many Christians maintain an active prayer life because they feel it brings them closer to God. Those who use prayer journals can record their prayers and the results of the prayers as they receive answers and results to their prayers. This practice can help deepen prayer life and increase faith by reminding the believer of the history of answered prayers. You can create your own prayer journal with a three-ring binder and sheets you create yourself.

Creating Your Prayer Journal Cover
-
1
Purchase a three-ring binder. Cover the binder front and back cover with a layer of cotton batting.
-
2
Cut a piece of material that is 3 inches wider and longer than the binder. Split the corners at a 45-degree angle to a depth of 1 1/4 inch.
-
-
3
Glue the fabric to the binder. Angle the corners, so the flaps overlap.
-
4
Use a fabric pen to write your name on the cover, for example, "April's Prayer Journal."
-
5
Make any other decorative touches to the cover that you like.
Designing Your Pages
-
6
Create a line at the top of the page and label it "Date of Prayer."
-
7
Provide additional lines to cover about half the page and label this section "Prayer Requests"
-
8
Create two columns for the rest of the page space. The first column is narrow and labeled "Date." The wider column is labeled "Answered Prayer." Provide enough lines to complete the rest of the page.
-
9
Run copies of the master sheet.
-
10
Punch holes in the sheets and put them in the binder.
Using Your Prayer Journal
-
11
Use one sheet for each day.
-
12
Place the date at the top of the page.
-
13
Enter all of the prayer requests you have for the date
-
14
Enter any answered prayers you have experienced on the page where the prayer request was originally listed. Include the date of the answered prayer.
