How to Make Your Own Candy Necklace Kit

A homemade candy necklace is a fun, simple craft for just about any occasion. For a party requiring favors or a fun activity, consider assembling a DIY candy necklace kit for your guests. You can add different kinds of candies, cereals and embroidery threads to small gift boxes or bags. This tasty craft plays on the recent candy buffet trend but in a fun, wearable way. You can either give these candy necklaces as party favors or set up a necklace-making station with a variety of candies for party guests to use.

Things You'll Need

• Bamboo skewer
• Embroidery thread
• Candy

Instructions

1. Place all candies into different bowls. Hard candies with holes in the center and gummy candies work best for this activity. O-shaped cereals work well too. You can arrange candies by shape, type or color, depending on what's easiest for you.

2. Use the bamboo skewers to poke holes through any soft candies without holes in them. Taffy, gummy bears and gum drops all make excellent necklace candies.

3. Arrange candies in bowls and lengths of embroidery thread on a table. If you're going to give them as favors, place handfuls of candies and one length of embroidery thread in a gift bag. If not, you can just leave the candy and embroidery thread on the table and guests can assemble their own necklaces.

4. Assemble necklaces by threading pieces of candy onto the embroidery thread. Knot one end of the thread to hold the candy in place. Tie the two ends together and wear your new, delicious jewelry with pride.
