How to Make a Pebbles Costume

Pebbles Flintstone is an adorable character that delights children and evokes feelings of fun and nostalgia in adults. Whether you are a grown woman or little girl, dressing up as Pebbles for Halloween events, costume parties, parades or just for playtime is easier than you might think. Rather than spend a lot of money on a store-bought costume, Flintstones costumes are rustic and easy to throw together yourself on a very small budget, even if you don't know how to sew.

Instructions

    • 1

Paint a blouse with large black spots spaced sporadically all over the garment and make the shapes uneven. Pebbles traditionally wears green but has also been depicted in a brownish/gold top. A flair tank top or short baby doll dress is an excellent option, but since Pebbles is a cave girl, even an old T-shirt can work.

    • 2

Cut off the sleeves of the shirt. Cut V-shaped nicks into the armholes, neck and bottom a few times with scissors to make the fabric look jagged.

    • 3

Wear flesh-tone leggings or stockings, and a flesh-tone body suit if you want to cover more of your body beneath the costume or protect yourself from the cold.

    • 4

Put on the top and a pair of baby doll bloomers or short shorts. Pebbles is traditionally shown with blue-green, but has also been drawn with black, white or brown bottoms.

    • 5

Put on a pair of flesh-tone or pink ballet-style slippers or sandals. Pebbles traditionally goes barefoot, but slippers or sandals will suffice without ruining the look.

    • 6

Spray your hair with red-colored hairspray, or put on a medium-length red wig. Pull some hair up to the top of your crown and secure it with an elastic band for a ponytail. Be sure to leave bangs.

Affix a plastic bone to the ponytail holder by slipping it through the elastic or securing it with a second elastic band.

    • 7

Tease the hair slightly to make the ponytail poof up and make the bangs look shaggy and uneven.
