How to Tie String Bracelets
String bracelets are a simple yet creative craft. They're perfect for the person on a budget, as they can look professional and make for a thoughtful gift. Getting all of the knots in the right place might seem complicated at first, but once you get a handle on tying the strings and the pattern you need to make, you can produce several in a short span of time.

1
Straighten out the thread and hold one end in your hand. Line up the thread ends so they're even with each other.
-
2
Tie a knot about 2 inches from the ends of the threads. Tape the knot to a flat surface, such as a tabletop. Spread out the threads on the surface so they're separate from each other. Starting with the thread on the right, refer to the threads as Strands 1, 2, 3 and 4.

3
Hold Strand 2 and loop Strand 1 around it. Pull the thread though and make a knot. Repeat to make another knot directly under the first. Repeat this and make a knot with Strand 1 around Strands 3 and 4.
-
4
Hold Strand 3 and loop Strand 2 around and through to make a knot around Strand 3. Repeat this with Strands 4 and 1.
-
5
Hold Strand 4 and loop Strand 3 around and through to make a knot. Make the same knot as before with Strand 3. Make a knot around Strands 1 and 2.
-
6
Hold Strand 1 and loop and tie a knot with Strand 4, repeating this same knot with Strands 2 and 3.
-
7
Repeat steps 3 though 6 as many times as needed until the bracelet is long enough to fit around your wrist. Un-attach the tape and make a knot with all of the threads at the ends of the bracelet. Trim the extra threads leaving 1 inch of loose thread.
-
8
Wrap the bracelet around your wrist and tie the loose threads on either ends together tightly.
