Whether mashed, cut, sliced or fried, potatoes can be served in many forms. The Russet potato is the preferred spud when it comes to making baked potatoes.   • Washed potato
  • Microwave safe plastic wrap
  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Fork

Instructions

      Place the washed potato in a microwave safe bowl. Choose a bowl that is deep enough to allow at least 1 inch of space between the potato and the plastic wrap that will cover the bowl.

      Cover the bowl with microwave safe plastic wrap. Poke a small hole in the plastic wrap.

      Microwave the potato on high for 8 minutes. Remove the bowl from the microwave and carefully turn back one corner of the plastic wrap to release steam.

      Pierce the potato with a fork to check its tenderness.
