Adjust the number of "Jumpmans" (lives), "score level," "coin number" and "machine display type" by hand by finding your "SW1" switch in your machine's interior. The "SW1" switch has eight switches, numbered "1" through "8," starting from the left. The "1" and "2" switches control how many lives are available on the start screen, ranging from three to six. The "3" and "4" switches control how many points are needed to get an extra life, ranging from 7,000 points to 20,000 points. The "5," "6" and "7" switches control how many quarters are needed per game play, ranging from one coin for one play to one coin for four plays, and two coins for one play to five coins for one play. The "8" switch controls whether the display is shown upright or to the side.

Tips & Warnings
There are three different types of original Donkey Kong arcade machines: TKG2-UP, TKG3-UP and TKG4-UP. The instructions for adjusting the screens on each of these machines are the same, because each machine contains identical interior parts used to adjust its screen's settings.
Do not touch the inside of your video monitor's screen while adjusting the screen's settings. The video monitor's screen and its surrounding parts are powered with high tension and can injure you if touched.
