How to Feed Whey to Pigs

Whey is the liquid produced in the cheese-making process. The curds, the protein, fat and minerals that go into the cheese, separate and leave the whey, mainly lactose and water and a little bit of whey protein. You can feed whey to pigs to give them with their necessary protein and make a replacement for water. Feeding whey to pigs is a relatively easy task for a farm owner. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Glass tank
  • Lid
  • Nipple waterers
  • Drinking bin

      Pour all of the whey into a glass tank with a lid to store it for future use. Cover the tank securely with a lid.

      Locate the pigs drinking bin and make sure there is no water in it. Dump out water or anything else inside it and make sure it is completely empty.

      Fill up a nipple waterer with the whey from the glass tank and dump it into the pigs' drinking bin. Fill up the bin with the whey using the nipple waterer until it is completely full and monitor it just like water, making sure the pigs drink all whey and no water for the desired amount of time.

      Shut the lid back on the tank and sealed it until future use.
