My Nintendo DS Lite Won't Play Games

You can use the Nintendo DS Lite to play games made for both the DS and the previous Nintendo gaming handheld system, the Game Boy Advance. In addition, the DS Lite allows you to create messages to share with friends, and you can play games against them through a WiFi connection. If your DS Lite will not play games you can try a series of troubleshooting steps that may fix the problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the charge on the internal battery. If the pack is charged, the LED indicator for the system's power should be lit green, if nearly fully charged, or red if running low on battery power. If you see no light, use the AC adapter to plug the DS Lite into a wall outlet to charge the internal battery.

    • 2

Inspect your AC adapter cord if you are using this as your power source, such as when the battery is exhausted. It should be fully plugged into both the wall outlet and the DS Lite.

    • 3

Turn the DS Lite's power off and eject the game card. Put it back in and turn the power back on.

    • 4

Make sure the game is fully inserted into the appropriate slot on the DS (the DS and Game Boy Advance game cards go into different slots on the system --- the former into Slot 1 and the latter into Slot 2.) Push the card until it snaps into place.
