How to Add Ringtones to a Katana DLX

The Sprint network carries the Katana DLX cell phone. The Katana is manufactured by Sanyo, and it comes with some ring tones already on it. You might want to use ring tones of your favorite music on your cell phone instead. Of course, the way that you add ring tones to your cell phone is affected by who your cell phone service provider is. Fortunately, Sprint makes it easy for you to add ring tones to a Katana DLX by sending a simple text message.

Things You'll Need

• Email account
• Ring tone

Instructions

1. Open your email account and attach the ring tone that you want to add to your Katana DLX to the email message. Click on the "Attach" button and then double-click the ring tone file from your computer to upload it to your email message.

2. Send the email message to your Katana DLX's 10-digit cell phone number, followed by Sprint's text messaging extension (e.g., [e-mail]).

3. Flip open the Katana DLX cell phone and press the "OK" button to view the new text message that was sent to your cell phone. Press the right soft key, press the down arrow key to scroll to "Save as Ringtone" and then press the "OK" key to add the ring tone to your Katana DLX.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have Sprint PCS, use the Sprint PCS text messaging extension (e.g. [e-mail]).

• You may have to pay text messaging fees if text messages are not included in your Sprint calling plan.
