How to Install Software on a PlayStation 3 (PS3)

The PlayStation 3 was released in 2006. One new aspect of the PS3 is that you can buy digital software, in the form of downloadable games, from the PlayStation Store located on the PlayStation 3. All software that you buy from the PlayStation store must be installed to the PlayStation 3's hard drive before you are able to play it.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the "Game" menu.

2. Highlight the game that you just downloaded. Any software that needs to be installed will have a bubble around the icon. For example, if you just downloaded the "Beat Sketcher Demo," the "Beat Sketcher Demo" icon in the "Game" menu will have a bubble around it indicating that it needs to be installed.

3. Press "X" to install the game. The game will automatically install to your PS3 hard drive.

Tips & Warnings

• All installed games are located in the "Game" menu on your PlayStation 3.
