How to Make a Children's Ninja Costume

The most distinguishing element of a ninja costume is the mask.

A ninja costume is one of the easiest costumes to make for your child's next Halloween or costume party. In fact, you can make a ninja costume using items you already have in your closet. Whether you're planning ahead or looking for a last minute idea, a ninja costume is a fun and inexpensive way to go.

Things You'll Need

• Black turtle neck
• Black long-sleeved shirt
• Black loose fitting pants
• Red scarf or sash
• Black shoes
• Plastic sword
• Black electric tape

Instructions

1. To make your mask, put the black long-sleeved shirt halfway around your head. Bring the collar to just under your eyes so it is sitting on the bridge of your nose. Have someone help you grab the back of the shirt and pull the bottom seam over your head until the bottom seam is resting just above your eyebrows. With some help, pull all the loose material behind your head and tie the sleeves into a knot at the base of your neck.

2. Put on a black turtle neck leaving the knot of your mask tucked under the neck.

3. Put on your black pants and black shoes. Using black electric tape, gather your pants at the ankles and secure.

4. Add a red scarf or sash around the waist for a finishing touch. You may also tuck a plastic sword or other ninja accessory into your belt to make your costume look more realistic.
